Ailo - Concepts

In the beginning I could not imagine having the music. The cover is simple and nothing special points of the grandiose music.
But when I had listened to all the tracks I was thrilled. Ailo shows no trace of trance. All tracks are ambient. Each track is different. My favorite track is number three, the one with its mix of downbeat, Peruvian pan flutes and synthesizer. It is weightless as you fly through the mountains of La Reunion, with its deep jungles and waterfalls.
Also particularly pleasing is Title 8 A title which is noticeable by its rich, bell-like sounds. The music is very well suited for relaxing and it touches the listener deep into his soul.
Ailo is one of the music that I can hear again and again without losing its charm.
For any fan of downbeat, chill-out ambient and trance, this CD is a indispensable.

Ailo started off within the year 2003 when nikos and stelios met under very peculiar circumstances. After falling in love with each other's music, they decided to put their musical efforts together and formed a new project; ailo. The project name itself means something not material, of no material structure. It can be an idea, a belief, an emotion or even a sense or an alternative reality.

Generally, ailo manage to form timeless productions with a mix of western and eastern elements, ideas that remain unimpaired through time, sounds both electronic and physical, diachronic concepts which don't bring out the same feelings as on the first listening, sounds which trigger inner feelings and deep emotions, inspire existential searches and welcome the listener to imagine endlessly. As a result, their music might make you happy or sad - or even both. It might relax you or fulfil you with energy; It might remind you or make you forget. But what is for sure, ailo's music can't be placed under a particular music tag.

While currently nikos is studying computer engineering and informatics desiveloping and stelios is an active sound technician for numerous shows in Greece, they tend to spend most of their time in studio producing some form of sound.

Nun möchte ich über ein musikalisches Projekt schreiben, dass noch zu wenige kennen. Da die Musik aber sehr einzigartig ist, finde ich das sehr schade. 
Ailo ist das Ergebnis des musikalischen Zusammenschlusses von Nikos Vassilakis und Stelios Stamos

Kennen gelernt habe ich Ailo auf last.fm. Am Anfang konnte ich mir nichts unter der Musik vorstellen. Das Cover ist einfach gestaltet und nichts Besonderes weist auf die grandiose Musik hin. 

Doch als ich mir alle Titel angehört hatte war ich begeistert. Ailo zeigt keine Spur von Trance. Alle Titel sind ambient. Jeder Track ist unterschiedlich und auf seine weise genial. Mein Lieblingstitel ist die Nummer drei, der mit seiner Mischung aus Downbeat, Peruanischen Panflöten und Synthesizern zu den besten zählt. Es ist  als fliege man schwerelos durch die Berge von La Reunion mit ihren tiefen Urwäldern und Wasserfällen.

Ebenfalls besonders angenehm ist Titel 8. Ein Titel der durch seine kräftigen, glockenähnlichen Klänge auffällt.

Bei Ailo treffen sowohl westliche, als auch östliche Komponenten zusammen. Die Musik ist zum Relaxen sehr gut geeignet und sie berührt den Hörer tief in seiner Seele.

Ailo gehört zu der Musik, die ich immer wieder hören kann, ohne dass sie ihren Reiz verliert. 

Für jeden Fan von Downbeat, Chill-Out und Ambient Trance ist diese CD ein absolutes Muss. 
Um noch mal auf das Cover zurückzukommen: Es ist überwiegend mit gelben, orangen, roten und braunen Farbtönen gestalltet. Das gesamte Cover ist eine Fotomontage von Gras und Moos, welches in ambientes Licht getaucht wurde.
