Fahrenheit Project Seven

Nun ist es endlich mal wieder so weit. Ein neues, wundervolles und lang erwartetes Album hat den Einzug in mein Regal gefunden.
Hierbei spreche ich von Fahrenheit Project Seven.  Bereits letztes Jahr angekündigt erschien der Silberling am 22 Mai 2011. Pünklich am 23. Hatte ich Post bei mir im Briefkasten, worin sich natürlich die Platte befand. Das lag vor allem daran, dass die das Album bereits zwei Wochen vorbestellt hatte.
Lange ist es her seitdem Part Six erschienen ist. Mit dem siebten Teil wird die Serie nun entgültig abgeschlossen. So jedenfalls hat es mir Ultimae-Records berichtet. Warum gerade sieben CD´s erschienen sind konnte ich leider nicht in Erfahrung bringen.
Die CD unterscheidet sich ein wenig von den Bisherigen. Nummer Sieben ist haupsächlich Trance-orientiert und punktet mit rasanten und bewegenden Rhytmen. 
Neben alten Bekannten wie Asura, Solar Field oder Hol Baumann, finden wir eine Vielzahl von neuen Interpreten. Zu ihnen gehören: Gaiana, Cygna sowie Maurizio Piazza. (Ok das waren jetzt doch nicht so viele ;-) )Für mich absolutes Neuland, bringen auch diese Künstler aufregende und klanglich interessante Stücke mit sich.
Die CD erscheint als Digipak, bestehend aus zwei Teilen. Ein Booklet ist leider nicht enhtalten. Die Platte sleber macht einen Edlen eindruck durch die gewohnt glänzende Cooverbeschichtung. Die Musik wurde hervorragend aufgenommen und zeigt keinerlei Spuren von Übersteuerung oder Verzerrungen.
Das Cover ist, nicht wie bei Aes Dana - Perimeters oder 
Solar Fields – Origin, ganz klassisch nach dem Ultimae-Stil beschaffen. Zwei schwarze Balken und eine schöne Fotomontage bilden das übliche Bilde dieser kostbaren CD´s.
Die Lauzeit des Siebten Teils beträgt 76 Minuten und 8 Sekunden, wurden in Lyon aufgenommen und von Vincent Villuis aka 
Aes Dana zusammengestellt.
Wie oben bereits erwähnt geht die Musik eher in Richtung Trance/Goa und vielleicht Psytrance. Nur wenige Titel entsprechen dem Klangmuster der bisherigen Platten. Das ist zwar etwas ungewohnt aber nicht sonderlich schlimm.
Zusammenfassend kann ich kann ich sagen, dass ich den Kauf der letzten Compilation nicht bereue. Das Klangmuster ist leicht verändert, beschert uns aber mit ausgezeichneten Qualitäten und schönen Sounds. Des Weiteren ist es natürlich Pflich die Platte zu kaufen, wenn man schon alle Vorgänger besitzt. Das sieht nicht nur gut aus, sondern steigert auch den Wert meiner Sammlung. Ultimae-Records hat uns mit Fahrenheit Project in verschiedene Welten und Zeiten gebracht. Auf sieben CD´s können wir eine klangliche Vielfalt vorfinden die seines Gleichen sucht.

Lange ist es her, dass ich etwas geschrieben habe. Aber naja....die CD´s werden langsam knapp und wenn nichts neues dazu kommt kann auch kein neuer Eintrag erstellt werden. Das hat sich aber jetzt geändert.  
Ein neues Album wird Einzug in meine Sammlung halten. 
CJ Catalizer - I´ll Be There ist der Name des neuen Silberlings, der am 4.3.2011 veröffentlicht wird. Wer genau hinter dem Namen steckt, konnte ich leider nicht herausfinden aber die Musik ist umso besser. I´ll Be There ist das dritte Album von CJ dessen Musik ist eine Mischung Chillout, Psybient und Downtempo darstellt.
Die CD  erschien unter dem  Label Altar-Records, zu denen bereits die vorgestellten Platten Air und Water gehören. Trotz dem Erscheinungsdatum sind bereits alle Titel zum anhören online gestellt. Einfach hier klicken!
Zur Zeit kann ich nichts anderes hören. Jeder Titel ist ein einmaliger Genuss. Wundervolle, ruhige und sphärische Stücke (01 - Waves Geometry) wechseln sich mit flotten Beats (08 - Live Lattitude) ab und erzeugen ein wahre galaktische Stimmung ;-). 
Das Cover ist sehr schön gestalltet, wie man zweifellos erkennen kann und überzeugt mit kräftigen Farben. Die CD erscheint als Jewel-Case und digitales Format. 
Durch Zufall bin ich auf CJ Catalizer gestoßen. Nun ist er nicht mehr aus meiner Sammlung weg zu denken. Aber hört selber...!

Am Wochenende habe ich meine CD-Sammlung wieder um ein weiteres Exemplar erweitert. Nach Paul Kalkbrenner - Self  befindet sich nun auch endlich der Soundtrack zu seinem Film Berlin Calling in meinem Besitz.
Einige Titel sind uns schon aus dem Radio bekannt und jeder Club-Gänger wird die schon einmal gehört haben: Aaron und Sky and Sand.
Ich bin erst seit einigen Monaten Paul Kalkbrenner Fan, nach dem ich Self geschenkt bekommen habe. Bei einem Freund habe ich mir dann den Soundtrack von Berlin Calling angehört und war begeistert. Klasse Beat, interessante Rhythmen aber teilweise dennoch eintönig. Wie schon bei Self wurden auch hier sicherlich viele Loop´s eingebaut. Was solls. Die Musik ist gut und nur das ist entscheidend.
Die CD erscheint als Deluxe-Digipack. Im Innenteil finden wir eine art Collage mit verschiedenen Bildern und Scenen aus Pauls Leben. (Kann auch sein, dass das Scenen aus dem Film sind)

Even though reality shows have been trying to prove otherwise, a successful career as a musician, even as a pop star, cannot be forced with a pre-packaged crash course. As of 2010, Paul Kalkbrenner has tallied up more than 15 years of experience as a producer and live act, all the while learning what it means to go purposefully from one step to the next. When the Berlin Wall fell, he was 12. The soundtrack of his youth, and of the majority of his generation, was still in its infancy, awaiting its breakthrough: techno music.

The fall of the wall meant reunification, but above all, a sense of no holds barred. The eastern part of the city became the anarchic, creative playground for a euphoric youth, now freed from bureaucracy. The early 90s were formative years for a young Paul Kalkbrenner as well. Eventually, in one of many long and sleepless nights on the dancefloors of E-Werk, Planet and Whale, the dream was born to make music himself, and anything less important would be put aside. A job as TV editor got him through the mid-90s and financed his first music gear. By this point Paul had already decided that he did not want to be a typical DJ playing other people’s records, but rather to play only his own music, live in a club setting. His first tracks were released in 1999 on Berlin-based BPitch Control (the newly founded label from Ellen Allien) as the Friedrichshain EP, titled after his home district in the city’s east. A series of further singles and two full-lengths (Superimpose and Time) followed, plus continuous live performances that threatened to shatter the grid of his calendar.

Together with Paul Kalkbrenner, BPitch Control gained a strong momentum. Interviews in respected German magazines like Spex and De:Bug paved the way for regular international bookings. The Lufthansa fetishist had now become a frequent flyer. Paul’s third album Self (2004) would mark the beginning of a new era. His melodic sound, with its affinity for grand emotional gestures, obeyed the logic of the dancefloor, but Self introduced a narrative aesthetic, serving as a soundtrack to a film that didn’t exist (at least, not yet…). It was Paul's most musical and mature album to date, although still taking cues from the dancefloor and rave culture, offering a first glimpse of what was yet to come. "Gebrünn Gebrünn”, released one year later, became a crossover hit found in every DJ’s record bag and finally cemented Paul’s status as a Techno MVP.

In early 2006, German director Hannes Stöhr, an avid fan of Self, decided to get in contact with Kalkbrenner. His idea was to produce a film about a musician in Techno City during the new millennium, and Paul would compose the soundtrack. The two met, traded ideas and experiences, and soon after began working on the screenplay’s first draft. In the course of their exchange, Hannes had the realization that Paul should not just contribute the music, but that he would be the perfect choice as the film’s star. Without hesitation, Paul accepted the offer. They decided to title the film Berlin Calling. For the soundtrack’s production, Paul and his friend (and BPitch colleague) Sascha Funke spent half a year in Cézanne’s hometown of Aix-En-Provence in southern France.

Unencumbered by the cold, gray Berlin winter, Paul devoted himself entirely to the musical aspect of the project. One song already had a title: “Sky and Sand” with vocals by Paul’s brother Fritz. Upon Paul’s return to Berlin in 2007, the filming began, and the finished work was brought to German theaters in October 2008. Berlin Calling and Paul’s debut acting performance received positive reviews, and the film, thanks to its authentic depiction of the Berlin club scene and drug culture, became, slowly but surely, a cult classic.

The soundtrack and especially the single "Sky and Sand" broke all sales records. That track in particular went gold in Belgium where it remained in the charts’ Top Ten for weeks. The 2009 DVD release of the film brought Paul to a new, much larger audience around the world. By the end of the year, Paul separated with BPitch Control after a decade-long relationship to take the next steps of his career alone. In early 2010 Paul completed a twelve-city live concert tour throughout Europe (with over 50,000 tickets sold within just a few weeks), followed by many headlining appearances at summer festivals. More tours and new challenges await him.

Infected Mushroom - Converting Vegetarians

Psy-Trance innovators Infected Mushroom have become one of the biggest electronic bands on the planet. Twice ranked among the world’s 10 best DJs by the bible of the scene, the U.K.’s DJ Magazine, the Israel-bred, L.A. based duo bring a frenetic rock energy to the form. Their explosive show, featuring guitars, live drums, intensely passionate vocals and an ambitious multimedia backdrop, ranks among the genre’s most unpredictably joyous events. And their recordings continually venture where other electronic acts fear to tread.

Amit “Duvdev” Duvedevani and Erez Eisen have been working for nearly two years on an aggressive new album – their first since 2007’s critically acclaimed Vicious Delicious – for dance-music visionary Paul Oakenfold’s Perfecto label. Duvdev describes the as-yet untitled record, recorded at Infected Mushroom Laboratory in L.A. and slated for a June 2009 release, as a return to the pair’s metal roots. Guests include singer Jonathan Davis of Korn, who lends his estimable pipes to the track “Smashing the Opponent.”

Oakenfold has worked closely with the band in an A&R capacity. “Paul’s known as a House DJ, so we weren’t sure how he’d feel about our heaviest material,” Duvdev reveals, “but he loved it. He’s really brought a lot of great energy and advice to the table.”

From the Ultra Fest in Miami to the Virgin Festival in Baltimore, from Mexico’s OMIX to Cali’s Coachella, from Brazil’s Ipanema Beach to Melbourne’s Metro Club, Infected Mushroom has averaged about 120 live performances per year. The band will honor that tradition in 2009, starting with a 17-date U.S. tour slated to kick off in Texas in March.

Infected Mushroom wurde 2005 vom britischen DJ Magazine zu den 100 besten DJs (Platz 26) gewählt. 2006 erreichten sie Platz 12 und 2007 sogar Platz 9. Anfang 2006 zogen Infected Mushroom von Israel nach Los Angeles (USA), wo sie laut eigenen Aussagen bessere Möglichkeiten zum Zusammenarbeiten mit anderen Künstlern (auch außerhalb der Goa-Szene) vorfinden.

2007 komponierte die Band den Soundtrack für die neue Version 6 des Instant-Messaging-Programms ICQ.

Ihren Durchbruch in den USA hatten sie 2009 mit dem Album Legend of the Black Shawarma, das sie in die Top 10 der Dance-Album-Charts brachte.

Converting Vegetarians ist noch erhältlich und das ist auch gut so. Das Album wird als Doppel-CD in einem Digipack geliefert, was sehr edel ist. 
Besser jedoch ist die Doppel-LP, die allerdings bei einem Preis zwischen 70 € und 200 € liegt.

Vibrasphere - Lungs of Life

For more than a decade, Swedish duo Rickard Berglöf and Robert Elster (better known to the world as Vibrasphere) have been pumping out tracks from their Cloud 99 Studio. With way over a 100 released productions to their name, they are without a doubt one of the most sought-after and respected trance acts in the world today. Vibrasphere have performed hundreds of Live sets in over 40 countries all over the globe. Early releases Echo (2001) on Spiral Trax and Lime Structure (2003) on Digital Structures established them as truly leading figures of the progressive trance scene, earning them a place in the history of this progressive sound. Their 3rd Album, Archipelago (also on Digital Structures) was regarded as one of the seminal releases of 2006 and after their short break in 2005, firmly signally Vibrasphere were back on the scene. In late 2006, the single Floating Free was picked up by Superstar DJs Markus Shulz and Armin Van Buuren for their radio shows, resulting in a string of licenses including Gatecrasher Live on Ministry of Sound and Armada Trance Vol. 1. With strong support from DJs Paul Van Dyk, Hernan Cattaneo, Paul Oakenfold, Christopher Lawrence, Remy, Menno de Jong, Kenneth Thomas and John 00 Fleming has helped with making a successful transition to a wider audience and a whole new generation of Vibrasphere fans. Riding on the back of their successful 2006 release Archipelago (and its subsequent remix CD), Vibrasphere released  their 4th full length album, Exploring the Tributaries this time on Tribal Vision Records in June 2007. Es ist erstaunlich, wie viele Metal-Bands es gibt, die ihren Ursprung in Schweden haben. Viel interessanter ist jedoch die Frage, wie viele DJ´s und Composer aus Schweden kommen. Einen haben wir bestimmt schon kennen gelernt. Naja jedenfalls diejenigen, die mitgelesen haben werden es wissen. (Wobei das nicht so viele sein werden) Gut. Also mein absoluter Lieblings-Composer Magnus Birgersson aka Solar Fields ist Schwede. Ein Duo, welches auch aus dem Norden kommt, nennt sich Vibrasphere. Unter den Fans von Trance und Ambient sicherlich kein neuer Name, doch für die, die Vibrasphere nicht kenne, hier eine kleine Zusammenfassung: Rickard Berglöf und Robert Elster bilden Vibrasphere. Die beiden haben sich auf progressive Trance spezialisiert und traten bereits bei über 100 Livacts in der ganzen Welt auf. In der Trance-Szene sind sie sehr bekannt. Rickard Berglöf und Robert Elster produzieren aber nicht nur flotten und sehr beatlastigen Trance, sondern auch angenehme, sowie sphärische Soundlandschaften. Diese Titel sind sehr ruhig und ambient. Ein Genuss für die Ohren. Oh jaa. Bisher besitze ich nur ein Album von Vibrasphere: Lungs of Life. Es ist das fünfte und bisher letzte Studioalbum von den Beiden. Lungs of Life ist zweigeteilt. Einige Lieder sind der pure Trance, andere wiederum das reine Wohlfühlerlebnis. Aber...hört einfach mal selber rein. Vibrasphere - Lungs of Live ist auf jeden Fall das Geld wert und das ist ja immer der entscheidende Punkt beim Kauf einer CD oder mp3-Datei. Lohnt sich der Kauf? In unserem Fall garantiere ich das.
