Hadra Records present to you the début album from Sysyphe aka Philip Contamin. Taking his inspiration from the Greek mythology of Sisyphos (in French “Sisyphe”), Philip has merged gothic influences with the world of psychedelic ambient. Through the careful union of an unctuous dub background, vaporous ambient music and psychedelic melodies, the Producer takes us to the undergrowth of a deep forest. The listener is transported among trees as tall as organic cathedrals, in a place lit by a large full moon, half way between shadow and light. If you listen carefully you will hear the murmur of witches talking about love and nature; you will enter the gates to a world of vibrations, where everything breathes. Track after track, this album invites you to embark on a trip through sounds. It is an escape from everyday life, away from the “hill” that Sysyphe must eternally climb.
Nach längerem Warten möchte ich nun ein neues Produkt aus meiner Sammlung vorstellen. Leider besitze ich das Album Sysyphe - Running Up That Hill nur als digitales Medium. Wo man das kaufen kann, könnt ihr unten dann lesen. Es kommt nicht oft vor, dass ich mp3´s kaufe, da meine Augenmerk eher auf den originalen CD´s liegt. Allerdings hatte ich diesmal keine Lust auf meine Bestellung zu warten und so bezahle ich bei we7 für die Musik.
Das Album erschien am 28.4.2010. Ist daher nichts aktuelles mehr aber dennoch recht neu.
Die Musik hat allgemein nicht viel mit Trance zu tun. Es handelt sich hierbei, wie ihr vielleicht schon selber gehört habt, um Downbeat. Schwungvolle Rhythmen, sphärische Klänge und ein nicht allzu aufdringlicher Beat vermischen sich zu einer angenehmen Soundkombination. Manche Alben höre ich mir an und achte dabei zielgerichtet auf die Musik z.B. bei Solar Fields. Sysyphe - Running Up That Hill gehört zu der Musikart, die ich eher im Hintergrund laufen lasse. Beim Arbeiten, Schreiben oder lesen. Da kaum Vocals vorkommen macht sich das recht gut.
Die Musik selber strahlt dabei eine gelassene Lounge-Stimmung aus.
Aber...lauscht selber den schwingenden Klängen.
