Carbon Based Lifeforms - [Interloper]

Göteborg based ambient band Carbon Based Lifeforms (Daniel Segerstad & Johannes Hedberg) releases its third album [ Interloper ] as a follow up to their previous sonic introspections.

Performed live for the first time at Stockholm's Cosmonova Planetarium in November 2009, the music compositions retain their ethereal, wide, uplifting nature and are infused with haunting vocals by Karin My Andersson and poems by Anna Segerstad.

Carbon Based Lifeforms' aficionados will recognize their pulsing bass lines, soft pads and acid melodies. Cherry on the cake, this time Johannes Hedberg picked up guitar and bass and Karin My Andersson her Cello to add a more organic texture to the music.
[ Interloper ] presents 10 mesmerizing tracks which will propel the listener into a gentle and vibrant journey through warm grooves and fluid electronic atmospheres.

A classic in the downtempo genre.

Finally I would like return again to Ultimae Records and describe a new product from the them.
On 3 May 2010 it was ready. The third album by
Carbon Based Lifeforms was released officially on the market.
I was personally very excited about it because I have read in the spring the first reports about a new album.
It was not long and the album is consistently added into my collection.
About the CD:
The album we delivered in a digipack. It includes also a 16-page booklet. It is full of great pictures and short descriptions of the titles.
The cover is decorated in contrast to the other two albums quite simple.
On the front we see a field shrouded in mist in which a person moves his ways. The back shows a plantation. It might be of a wine, or hops. The cover is largely kept in a weak greenish gray.
Off course the music is superb and well done again. All tracks are very quiet and characterized by a pleasant beat. I especially like track 4, which is in contrast to other relatively fast. A mysterious but cheerful melody places us in a floating mood.
Title 5 begins with a few sentences spoken by Anna Segerstad. Title 6 pleases me very well. The music is slow and is accompanied by the soft voice of Karin My Andersson. The title reminds me of some of the music of "The Lord of the Rings" or Narsillion.
"M" is the simple name of Title 8. This strikes me as particularly mystical. Again, the music will again be accompanied by the voice of Karin My Andersson. In the rear part of the song the music is a little faster.
Pleasantly soothing is the number 10 with their smooth sounds and melodies.
An addition to Title 3: Here we hear Karin My Andersson, who makes her cello in the background an interesting change.

Conclusion: Carbon Based Lifeforms - [Interloper] is a very beautiful album. The tracks are all quite different, and each time a treat for the ears. If you have the first two albums may not miss any case [Inerloper]. A successful work.
